Hotel Update #2

Hopefully most of you have already booked your rooms for the wedding, but for those who haven't we still have some rooms reserved at the Residence Inn in Chandler for $89 per night (Scroll down for more info). If you are looking for another sort of place to stay, let me know and we'll help you find a hotel in the area.

Hotel Update - August 15, 2006

Greetings everyone! We have been informed that the amazing deal at the Residence Inn in Chandler has ended and the rate has gone up to $181 per night. While this is still a reasonable rate in comparison to other hotels for this season, I thought I would post another less expensive option for those who haven't yet booked a hotel room.

The San Marcos Hotel and Golf Resort was built in 1913 by Dr. Alexander Chandler, the founder of Chandler. The hotel's guest lists has boasted Hollywood stars such as Fred Astaire, Joan Crawford, Bing Crosby, Clark Gable, Gloria Swanson, George Gobel, Cher and President Herbert Hoover. The hotel is located within walking distance of a small cluster of local restaurants, shops and bars which often feature live entertainment in the evening. It is also conveniently located near my parent's house and the Residence Inn, where many guests are staying. The rates should be $108.99 for a standard room.

To book a room at the Crowne Plaza San Marcos Golf Resort:

2. Select dates (likely March 15th or 16th - March 18th) on the right hand side of the screen
3. Click "Find"
4. Book!

Hotel Information - Please book ASAP!

March is prime baseball spring training season in Phoenix, so many hotels are already sold out and are very expensive. We highly recommend booking your lodging as soon as possible. The rate we found at the Residence Inn is likely an error and may not last long, so we're going to take advantage of the deal while we can! The manager promised that they will honor any price found on their website, so no worries there.

The best hotel we've found is the Residence Inn by Marriott in Chandler, AZ and is located very close to my parent's home. It is also across the street (walking distance) to a very large mall, movie theater, and numerous restaurants. It is in a good part of town and a short drive (10-15 minutes) to the wedding. The regular rate it March is over $200 a night. The rooms include a queen/king bed, sofa bed, living room, and full kitchen for $89 ($86 / $77 per night with a AAA or Senior Citizens discount). The hotel also provides a full breakfast every morning and a cocktail hour in the evenings.

To book a room:

1. Go to the website: http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/PHXCD

2. Select dates (likely March 15th or 16th - March 18th) on the right hand side of the screen.

3. Click "Find"

4. On the next page, select Senior Citizens (62+) or AAA discount on the left hand side of the screen, if desired.

5. Click "Find" again.

6. Book! :)

If you have any trouble booking, please let me know and I can try to be more explicit with my directions. I have also booked a block of rooms with my credit card in case the price changes, so please let me know if you have any problems booking your room and we can possibly accomodate you with our rooms.

We are still actively searching for good hotel prices in the valley for our wedding weekend and will update this site with anything we find. Once the Residence Inn is full, I will post information for a back up hotel but it is likely to not be as good a deal. If you find a better deal or would like to know about another hotel's proximity to the festivities, please contract either me or my mom.
